Rod began performing in school and church recitals in Barbados and placed third in the Barbados Junior Calypso Competition at age ten. Singer, songwriter, disc jockey, performer and producer became the identity called Hotta Flames.
The historic phrase remains part of the archive. Today, Hotta Flames names the music and performance life within Izza Natural Ting—not a separate person and not an abandoned past.
